Farming Experiences

Yes! We've carefully selected all activities that actually take place down on the farm. That means you will be in a proper, working environment rather than a country park or zoo. You'll be invited to get properly stuck in with everyday countryside tasks and activities, such as herding sheep, ploughing fields or tending to the resident animals.

Our tractor experiences at farms around the UK vary from 15 minutes to two hours, so your itinerary will vary, but you can expect to be driving, hooking up attachments, moving bales around and maybe even heading out to a field to plough it! Yep, they are all as good as they sound!

Age limits vary depending on the kind of farm activity you'll be doing. For example, meeting the farm animals are perfect for all ages including younger children, whilst the heavy machinery experiences will need you to be at least 16 years old, unless it is a specific junior version of the experience. No driving licence is needed as you are on private farming land.

Not at all. Whether you're building a new dry stone wall or heading to the field in a combine, no previous farming experience is needed. So if you're a city dweller who has never even stepped on a farm before, you'll be welcomed into the fold!

As these are genuine outdoor activities taking place on real working farms, we recommend wearing comfortable, rugged outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear like walking boots, wellies etc. It could very well be muddy down on the farm, so a change of clothes is a good idea too.

Spectators are welcome at most venues, though restrictions vary. For experiences out in the fields spectators, viewing maybe limited due to safety boundaries, but there will more than likely be time to take great photos of you next to the machinery or with the animals at the start or end of your experience!

Farming life goes on whatever the weather, so in general these experiences are not affected by the weather, unless it is so extreme you can't get to the venue. And remember, if it rains that means even more fun as you go trundling around in your tractor!

Because these activities take place on rugged, natural working farm terrain, fields and inside high-cab machinery, most of our heavy machinery and driving experiences are unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. However, animal-based experiences may vary, so please contact our customer service team to check specific location accessibility before buying.
