What Can I Expect
Welcome to the Ploughing Masterclass! Spend a hearty three hours learning how to plough an actual field with an actual tractor like a proper farmer on these fantastic experiences.
Any experience that involves a tractor and a field is a big seller. These masterclasses take that dream up a notch, as you are taught everything you need to know about ploughing - and it’s not just a case of jumping in and heading to a field.
How, why and when a farmer ploughs a field is a big thing in the agricultural world. Things like whether you use a disc plough attachment or a mould board plough, whether you plough (and then sow) or leave a field fallow and even watching the weather forecast are all important factors.
You’ll learn how to set up your tractor and hook up the plough attachment. Farmers adjust the depth of their plough set up according to the soil type and what crops they plan to sow. And hopefully if conditions are right, you will get to try ploughing in a field.
That first furrow is key and it’s all about going steady and in a straight line (easier said than done!) and then overlapping those furrows for a nice and neat finish.
On these superb ploughing masterclasses in Nottinghamshire, you will learn a lot, get loads of hands-on experience and, above all, have great fun being a farmer in a tractor in a ploughed field. It’s as simple and brilliant as that!
