How do Go Ape experiences differ from other high-ropes activities?
High-ropes courses can be built anywhere on a network of free-standing poles, but Go Ape courses are all fully integrated into the natural forest woodland, with modules built in the trees. Go Ape always features signature obstacles like the drop-net Tarzan swings and they use clever technology to ensure you are continuously attached via your belay device, without restricting movement. All of which make Go Ape unique.
Which Go Ape tree-top experience should I choose?
You can choose your course according to age. Go Ape offers a range of high-ropes experiences where the height and the difficulty of the modules vary. The Adventure experiences are specifically aimed at children, with some venues offering lowdown routes for 4 to 6 year olds, as well as mid-height routes for 6 to 10 year olds. All Go Ape locations have the full-height Challenge experiences for 10 years+ and adults.
How high are the Go Ape tree-top courses?
The high-ropes Challenge runs across the tree canopy at heights of up to 26 metres! The Adventure for kids are around 12 m off the ground (which is higher than your average house!), whilst the youngest 4 to 6 year olds will be a couple of metres up, ideal for building their Go Ape confidence!
Do children need adult supervision?
Yes. All participating children and teens under the age of 16 must be supervised by an adult who is 18 years+. Depending on the age of the children and the course tier selected, adults may need to participate on the course alongside them, or supervise from the forest floor. For example, an adult can supervise up to 8 children aged between 6 and 10 years from the ground on the Adventure course. Don't hesitate to contact Into The Blue's customer service team for more info.
How safe are these experiences?
Safety is central to all Go Ape experiences. High-ropes participants are fitted with continuous belay or smart-climbing harness systems. Everyone has a comprehensive safety briefing from qualified Go Ape instructors. Once on the course, you remain securely attached to the safety wire from start to finish.
Will I need a head for heights to Go Ape?
Yes! The main High-ropes Challenge experience from Go Ape will see you traversing the canopy at up to 26 m above the ground. However, you are attached at all times and you can tackle the course entirely at your own pace, feeling very proud of what you've achieved at the end!
