If your lesson is at the driving range, rain won't stop play as most ranges are covered. If you're out on the course, golf is an all-weather sport so dress appropriately. If, in the case of extreme conditions such as lightning or a flooded course, the PGA pro may decide to postpone and your lesson will be rescheduled.

You'll find there are five main types of golf clubs in a standard bag: Woods (for maximum distance off the tee), Irons (for versatile approach shots), Hybrids (an easy-to-hit mix of a wood and iron), Wedges (for high, short shots and bunker escapes) and Putters (for rolling the ball on the green). And fun fact - golfers in a comp are allowed a maximum of 14 clubs!

Yes, all coaches are qualified PGA (Professional Golfers' Association) professionals. This ensures you get the highest standard of teaching from experts who have undertaken rigorous training.

Lesson packages that include a round of nine holes take up to around two hours, whilst individual lessons at the range are generally 30 or 60 minutes.

Most UK golf clubs maintain a standard dress code when you are out on the fairways. Generally this is a collared shirt such as a polo, tailored trousers or golf shorts and golf shoes. Whilst denim, tracksuits and football shirts aren't generally allowed on the course or in the clubhouse, the dress code can be more casual for beginners at the driving range, but do check if in doubt!

Check the full details for each product before you buy, as some of our experiences (for example the lesson & round package) are aimed at those who already play golf, with the aim of improving technique and lowering your scores as you play a round of golf with your instructor. The lesson vouchers are aimed at all levels, including total beginners, who want to learn or improve on the essential golfing techniques.

In essence, on a lesson you will be at the driving range, which is great for focussing on swing technique. On a playing lesson, your coach will join you for a round of golf, giving you tips and teaching techniques in real-world scenarios as you tee off for each hole. It's a great way of getting a round in and learning as you play.

Not necessarily. If you have a set of clubs, definitely bring them along if you can. Most of our 150+ partner golf clubs will be able to lend you clubs for your lesson - perhaps mention on booking your date so that your PGA coach can prepare a set for you ahead of your lesson?
