Making memories since 1996! The first IntotheBlue experience days voucher was bought by Sally Best in August 1996 - and it was a trial flying lesson at Biggin Hill, where we are still based today. Sqn Ldr Jock Maitland organised the first Biggin Hill International Air Fair in 1963 and attending that inaugural show was Jock’s son, Jim Maitland - our MD.
Fond memories of a childhood spent at Biggin Hill led to Jim working with his father. Realising that many of the air show spectators would love to ‘have a go’ in an aeroplane, trial flights during the events started. Jim then continued to offer flying lesson experiences as gift vouchers all year round and Into the Blue was born. Since the launch of the website in 1999, we’ve added over 3000 different experience days and activities.
