What Can I Expect
JCB Digger Driving Dumfries! It’s time to trade the family car for a 13-tonne powerhouse on this heavy plant experience.
Based on the stunning 600-acre Kirkwood Estate near Lockerbie, you’ll get to grips with a genuine JCB JS131 excavator. Your session begins with a detailed safety briefing and a thorough introduction to those all-important levers and pedals.
Don't worry about being a novice, as you'll have 1:1 tuition from an expert driver throughout the session. They will show you exactly how to coordinate the boom, arm, and bucket to move earth like a pro.
Once you've mastered the basics, the real fun begins as you start digging into the Scottish soil. You will spend approximately 50 minutes at the controls, practicing manoeuvres and shifting mounds of earth around the site.
There is something incredibly satisfying about digging deep holes and then filling them back in with such a massive machine. It’s a tactile, noisy, and thoroughly engaging experience that feels a world away from the daily commute.
The estate is conveniently located between Dumfries and Gretna Green, making it an easy-to-reach spot for your muddy adventure. Just make sure to wear your sturdy outdoor gear, as things can get a bit messy when you're working the land.
