What Can I Expect

“We're Sex Pistols, we ain't fake!” dive into Johnny Rotten's (often controversial) world on a Sex Pistols London Tour. This two-hour, guided walking tour of the capital will lift the lid on how the underground world of Punk took over the world.

London, Soho, 1975. John Lydon, with his green spiky hair and t-shirt held together with safety pins, is spotted by influential shop owner and band manager Malcolm McLaren, who thinks he's found the perfect frontman for the Sex Pistols. The band starts rehearsing together in a basement on Denmark Street and we're heading to anarchy in the UK!

Bassist Glen Matlock was studying at St Martin's School of Art, so the first ever Sex Pistols gig was at the college. As the Punk movement gathered pace, Sex Pistols found themselves on Thames TV's ‘Today' programme as a last minute replacement for Queen who had to drop out. Cue lots of obscenities and insults and the rest, as they say, is history!

On your guided tour you'll see that basement entrance to Sex Pistols's rehearsal rooms, as well as where that first gig took place. Spot where Sid Vicious first met Nancy and hear how Glen Matlock had a brush with Police.

This whole area around Soho and Denmark St (known as Tin Pan Alley) has had a huge influence on the London music scene for decades, with Punk bursting through in the mid-70s. As well as the music, it was very much about fashion, often focussed around Malcolm McLaren and Vivienne Westwood's Soho shop.

This is a truly fascinating tour. And even if you were never really into Punk music, it is really interesting hearing about the story of Punk in London through the history of the Sex Pistols.

And would you believe it, Sex Pistols only recorded one actual studio album? The seminal ‘God Save The Queen' epitomises how brightly, but how fast the Punk scene burned. Book your tickets for the Sex Pistols London Tour and explore the capital through the eyes of Johnny, Sid, Glen, Paul and Steve!
