What Can I Expect

This Bell JetRanger helicopter simulator is ready for take off! This is your chance to be at the controls of an executive chopper to fly where you want in the world. It's pretty special and we think you'll love it!

Hosted by the largest flight simulation centre in Europe, this helicopter is one of several professional-standard sims at this location near Newcastle. The build-quality, the software standard and the calibre of hardware means that this JetRanger set-up is popular with pilots seeking to review their flying, or undergo proficiency checks.

But you don't have to be a licenced pilot to book a sim slot. Nor do you have to have any flying experience to get the most out of your session. With a fully qualified instructor leading the experience, you'll be encouraged every step of the way and it's you who's captain of the cockpit.

As far as realism goes, this is top dog. The fuselage of an actual Bell JetRanger 206 was used as the basis for this helicopter sim, so it can't get much more real than that. The dials, levers and controls all work just as they would in a real-life scenario, apart from the fact that you don't move anywhere.

With the superior 4k 300-degrees wraparound screens giving you real-time images from every window you look out of from the chopper, you'll be totally absorbed by and engaged in what is happening on your simulated helicopter flight.

The computer database stores over 50,000 airports, so there's bound to be an itinerary you'd like to try. How about hovering over the Statue of Liberty in New York? Dart in amongst the skyscrapers of Hong Kong. Swoop over the Great Barrier Reef. Circle the famous Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio. Explore Tokyo after dark. It's all perfectly possible on these experiences!

We are offering 30 and 60-minute JetRanger simulator sessions at this popular Newcastle venue. Be it skyscrapers or natural wonders, you decide your flight path in the two-bladed, twin-engine helicopter. Of course, there'll always been time to have a go at a hover and if you get it wrong in a sim, you just reset and go again!
