What Can I Expect
Get ready for Zip World Velocity - the ultimate high-speed adventure on the world's fastest zip line! Definitely one for adrenaline seekers, you’ll be riding for a mile, reaching speeds of up to 100mph over the Penrhyn Quarry in Snowdonia.
Your experience starts with a mini zip line run, which at over 40mph is a neat way to build up confidence before the main event that is Velocity.
Perched at over 150 metres above the crystal clear waters of the former slate quarry lake, just getting to the launch site for Velocity is a whole world of fun in itself, as you’ll be taken up the three-kilometre bumpy and bouncy quarry track in an open-sided, ex-Army truck.
Once at the top, the Skyline building is your Velocity HQ. Take in those far-reaching Snowdonia views (you’re in a World Heritage Site here!), gasp at the bright blue lake below and prepare yourself to be flying right over it!
Wearing the full safety gear, including a helmet and a full body harness (which looks a bit like a padded cradle), the anticipation builds as the Velocity ground crew get you settled into position on one of the four side-by-side zip lines and the countdown begins…
Feel your heart race as you wait for the signal to go. Then, you're all off, launched head first, accelerating rapidly as you glide down the one-mile long cable for the high-velocity zip line ride of your life!
