What Can I Expect
Ride the Fforest Coaster at Zip World in Betws-y-Coed! This year-round, alpine-styled toboggan run is in the heart of Snowdonian forests and combines scenic views with thrill rides.
The Fforest Coaster is great fun. You see them a lot in European ski resorts, so it’s fantastic to have one perfectly nestled here in the pine trees of North Wales.
The modern sledges are high-tech and they sit on rails. Once onboard and seatbelt on, you will be mechanically towed along the metal uphill track in your sledge. It’s a lovely, peaceful ride through the trees for around 300 metres.
Once at the top (a bit like a rollercoaster) you come out onto the flat at the startline. Then it’s brakes off and away you go, hurtling along, riding the rail, taking in the twists and turns of the 700 metre-long track as you go.
Operating the sledge couldn’t be easier : push forward to speed up, pull back to slow down. Sitting just inches off the rails, it’ll feel like you’re going warp speed and it takes nerves of steel not to brake on the corners!
To be a pilot on the Fforest Coaster you need to be at least nine years old and one metre tall. The sledges are big enough to take a front passenger between the ages of three and eight years, so we have vouchers for one to drive, or for one driver with a young passenger.
However you ride, you’re going to have a blast on the Fforest Coaster - and you get up to three goes on it!

Suitable For
- Children aged 3–8 yrs must be accompanied on the same sledge by 1 participating adult (or child aged 9+ and over 1m) for every child
- Participants combined weight must be below 150kg to share a sledge
- Children aged 9 - 17 years must be accompanied by a spectating adult, unless that adult is participating, in a ratio of 1 adult to 5 children
- A minimum height of 1m is required for the driver
- Participants must be below 150kg (seat belt permitting) to take part in this adventure
Spectators
- Spectators are welcome at the reception base
- Due to the nature of this activity viewing is limited

- This experience is excluded from additional discount codes and promotions

- Option to pre-book head-cam footage to capture and re-live the adventure for an additional charge payable when booking your date
- If this experience is postponed due to adverse weather conditions, you will be able to reschedule within 12 months but won't be entitled to a refund
