What Can I Expect
Go exploring at Zip World’s Caverns Adventure! Like a high ropes course but underground, this thrilling adventure course inside Llechwedd slate caverns is bursting with obstacles and challenges for you to take on.
In vast caves with atmospheric lighting and music, you’ll find a myriad of zip lines, rope bridges and via ferrata (that’s where you traverse rock faces and ledges) criss-crossing the linked caverns of this former slate mine.
Access is remarkably easy. It’s just a level walk in along the main tunnel from the entrance, which opens out into the first huge cavern. It’s cool in every sense of the word. Zip World has created a great ambiance and the temperature is a constant 6 to 8 degrees, perfect for playing inside.
And of course, bad weather won’t spoil your fun, as you head across the suspension bridges, go swinging down the zip wire and generally have a fab time discovering this underground adventure course.
The Zip World instructors will conduct a training session to show you how to clip in and clip out of the various modules you’ll encounter. You’ll then do a little trial run to make sure you’re comfortable with how everything works, before heading off on your cavern adventure, clambering and climbing everywhere.
This unique underground high ropes experience is only available at Zip World’s Llechwedd caverns adventure centre in this impressive former Welsh slate mine - and we think it’s well worth the trip!
