What Can I Expect

The river boat will be ready for boarding at 17:15 from the King Staith's landing stage, on the waterfront just along from Tower Gardens. Departing at 17:30, your trip spans the magical early evening time, returning back to King Staith's for 19:00.

Freshly cooked, wrapped in a box and delivered by award-winning takeaway MrChippy, your fish and chip supper really makes this York river boat trip. The husband and wife team has been running this hugely popular chip shop since 2001. Customers love the crispy batter and light, fluffy and golden chips cut from Yorkshire's finest potatoes.

If it's a nice, clement evening, taking your fish and chips to eat outside on the open deck of the boat is a must. After all, everyone knows fish and chips taste better when eaten in the fresh air!

Whilst you're tucking into your delicious chippy tea, you will see all the sights of York as you float on by. It's lovely to spot  the landmarks from the point of view of the water - and pretty amazing when you glide underneath those Victorian bridges spanning the River Ouse.

There will be a nice mix of background music and live commentary whilst you're onboard, making for a relaxed friendly and fun atmosphere.
