What Can I Expect

Wing walking days in Shropshire! The AeroSuperBatics team takes their show on the road to offer exclusive wing walking dates at Sleap Airfield near Shrewsbury. So, if you’re daredevil enough, you can fly on the wing!

Sleap Airfield is small and friendly, yet with great facilities for pilots, planes, wing walkers and spectators alike. The AeroSuperBatics crew and pilots love Sleap too. As well as a great cuppa at the airfield cafe, the Sleap team is giving a wing walking a very warm welcome, so it’s chocks away for some brilliant flying!

You will be standing atop a vintage Boeing Stearman. These wonderful biplanes date back to the 1940s and they are just as agile and fun to fly as they’ve always been. Taking it all in from the wing is the most adrenaline-filled way to experience these delightful aeroplanes.

Strapped safely into the harness, your professional wingwalking display pilot will start the engine and begin taxiing. Within moments, you’ll feel the wheels lift off the ground - and you’re away, soaring in open airspace, with views of the Welsh hills as your backdrop.

As you zoom past friends and family who have gathered in the garden of the Airfield Cafe to watch, give them a wave and a big smile. For your next pass, try stretching those arms and waving - it’s not as easy as the pro wing walkers make it look!

Every flight is adapted to the wing walker. So if you want to up the thrills, your pilot will perform an aerobatic routine (and yes, with you still up there!) or the flight can be a more gentle affair - whichever you prefer when you go wing walking from Shropshire’s Sleap Airfield!
