What Can I Expect
Wild Badger Watching Experience for Two! A rare chance to witness one of Britain's most elusive nocturnal creatures in the wild. As the sun begins to dip and the forest transforms, you'll head deep into the quiet corners of the Shropshire countryside.
Your evening begins at 5:00 PM, perfectly timed to catch the magic of dusk as the woods truly come alive. You'll be guided to a secluded viewing hide positioned right next to an established badger sett that has been here for over 30 years. This quiet spot is home to around 20 badgers, making it the perfect vantage point for a front-row seat.
The experience is entirely ethical, meaning these beautiful animals are never forced to interact and are seen strictly on their own terms. You’ll sit in silence, watching through the viewing windows as the badgers emerge for their nightly foraging and socialising. Because they are accustomed to the presence of the hide, you’ll get to see genuine natural behaviours from just a few metres away.
It isn’t just about the badgers though, as the woodland holds many more evening secrets for those who wait patiently. Keep your eyes peeled for red foxes slinking through the undergrowth or a tawny owl swooping silently between the branches. You might even spot a jay or a tiny weasel making an appearance as the light fades into the evening.
With groups limited to just 10 people, the atmosphere remains peaceful and respectful of the wildlife and their natural habitat. This is a truly grounding experience that connects you with the heartbeat of the British countryside. While sightings are highly expected due to the age of the sett, nature is unpredictable and every evening brings its own unique magic. It’s the perfect gift for any wildlife enthusiast looking for a genuine encounter with the natural world.
