What Can I Expect
Book a vineyard tour in Devon and spend a couple of hours exploring the lovely Wellhayes Vineyard and Winery near Tiverton! These packages for two include your tour, a flute of their finest sparkling wine and a traditional Devon cream tea.
You will be the guests of vineyard owners Simon and Alison. Their story is a fascinating one. From planting 150 vines by hand back in 2008, to having well over 2500 vines today, producing high quality wines has been a labour of love. But when you taste the award-winning sparkling wine and samples of their hand-made luxury liqueur chocolates, it's definitely all worthwhile.
Simon will take you on a tour around the small winery, where the likes of the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes are made into wine. He will also accompany you for a stroll around the vineyard perched on the Brendon Hills. The sunny, south-facing slopes, combined with the red Devonian soil that is deep and well-drained, makes this spot ideal for grape growing.
After your relaxed and informative vineyard tour, it's time for that Devon tradition - a delicious cream tea, accompanied by a freshly brewed cuppa with a sample of luxury chocolates made with the spirits that are made on site and, of course, that glass of the Wellhayes sparkling wine.
