What Can I Expect
Garden talks and walks with lunch at the stunning Swinton Estate in Yorkshire. These Swinton Estate Garden Tours are the perfect gift for keen gardeners and foodies alike.
The Cunliffe-Lister family has owned this incredible 20,000-acre estate within the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near Ripon since the 1880s. The estate includes formal gardens, kitchen gardens, extensive parklands, grouse moors and farmland - and at its heart is the gorgeous 42-bedroom Swinton Park Hotel.
Meeting at 12:15 in the Drawing Room of the hotel, you will be welcomed over tea and coffee. You will then head to one of the hotel's distinguished restaurants (usually the Country Club's Terrace Bar & Restaurant) for your two-course lunch.
Menus are very much seasonal, using vegetables and herbs from the estate's walled garden. The style of cuisine is ‘internationally inspired, made in Yorkshire'.
After eating, your host will introduce the theme for the day’s talk and walk around the gardens and lakes. You’ll enjoy a wonderful insight into Swinton’s gardening style, whilst also delving into the history of Swinton and the legacy of the Cunliffe-Lister family.
The four-acre walled garden, where much of the produce for the kitchens is grown, is a delight. There are also sweeping parklands too, which are, when in season, bursting with colour from the daffodils, azaleas and rhododendrons. You may even spot some of the estates resident fallow deer!
A unique chance to dine at Swinton and find out where some of the ingredients and much of the inspiration comes from, we think these Swinton Estate Garden Lunches and Tours are a superb gift to give. Buy your vouchers online from us now.
