You’ll have the choice of two very different sites, each offering a unique way to reconnect with the great outdoors. If you enjoy your creature comforts alongside your nature fix, the Dobbs Weir site is a fantastic choice for a classic glamping getaway.

For those who truly want to escape the modern world, the Almost Wild site offers a rugged, back-to-nature experience. This seasonal spot is open from April to September on weekends, providing a rare chance to live simply without electricity or hot water. You will be using composting toilets and embracing the peace and quiet that only a riverside location can provide.

Both sites feature spacious safari tents that comfortably sleep up to five people, making them ideal for families or groups of friends.

Inside, you’ll find plenty of room to relax after a day spent exploring the trails or waterways of the regional park. There is something truly special about falling asleep to the sounds of nature while tucked up in a proper bed under a canvas roof.

Whether you choose a one or two-night stay, these breaks allow you to set your own pace and enjoy the fresh Hertfordshire air. It is the perfect way to experience the fun of camping without the hassle of pitching your own tent.

When Is It Available

• Dobbs Weir site is available March to January, Monday to Friday
• Almost Wild site is seasonal, operating April to September on weekends and bank holidays only

• Minimum age 12 years (for the Almost Wild site only)
• Under 18's must be accompanied by an adult
• Dogs are welcome, but this must be advised at the time of booking. An additional charge will be payable for any dogs

Dobbs Weir

In the safari tent you’ll find:

• Two bedrooms: double bedroom; triple bunk bed, pull out bed and fitted sheets
• Settee
• Table and chairs
• Electrical sockets
• Four ring induction hob
• Fridge
• Cooking pans, utensils and kettle
• Cutlery, can opener, peeler and corkscrew
• Food containers
• Heater
• Washing up bowl and tea towels
• Lamps

Almost Wild
The Almost Wild site has no electricity, hot water, or showers, and uses composting toilets

In the safari tent you’ll find:

• Two bedrooms: double bed; triple bunk bed
• Settee
• Table and chairs
• Cooking pans, utensils and kettle
• Lamps
• Firepit with cooking area (logs for the fire can be purchased upon booking)

Please note that bedding is not provided at either location, so you will need to bring your own.
