What Can I Expect

The Liverpool Music Icons Tour. Not only will you hear about all the musicians and bands that shaped this great city, but you will also meet a music icon too!

The Farm. Frankie Goes to Hollywood. If you know your pop from the 80s and 90s, you will know the names. Your two-hour, music-themed walking tour of Liverpool will be hosted and guided by a member of these iconic Liverpudlian bands.

What a great opportunity to hear what life in a band like The Farm or Frankie Goes to Hollywood was really like. How did you feel when you first went on Top of The Pops? What's it like playing in front of a stadium audience? What did you spend your first royalty cheque on?

The Farm, with hits like ‘Groovy Train' and ‘All Together Now', were student-night dancefloor favourites (we know, we were there!). Frankie Goes To Hollywood went into the record books when their first three singles entered the UK charts at the number one spot.

Both groups epitomised life and youth culture at the time. This Liverpool music icons tour delves right into all that and how influential the music scene in Liverpool has been over the decades.

You'll see the gig venues, the studios, the pubs and the places where musicians and groups hung out in Liverpool. From the famous Cavern Club, to the UK's first superclub when dance music went massive, this city has it all and you'll see it all.

There's no doubting Liverpool is a veritable conveyor belt of musical talent. The Beatles, Gerry & The Pacemakers, OMD, The Icicle Works, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Farm, FGTH, The Christians, Cast, Atomic Kitten, The Wombats…the list goes on!

Your tour host has lived all this, so who better to guide you through Liverpool's rich musical history? Book your place on the Liverpool Music Icons Tour and get ready to meet a music icon who will show you their home city and tell you their story.
