What Can I Expect

Trial flying lessons in Wiltshire - light sports microlight flying fun at Yatesbury Airfield! Take the first steps in learning to fly at this small and welcoming owner-operated and run airfield near Devizes.

The training school is run by Marcello and his team, who all ‘love teaching as much as flying’, especially when it’s in one of the best light aircraft on the market. The Ikarus C42 is a modern, closed-cockpit microlight and it’s renowned for being fun to fly, reliable and cost-effective.

What’s more, the views from Yatesbury are amazing. As soon as you’re airborne it’s breathtaking. You’re surrounded by historical sights, with the North Wessex Downs and the Vale of Pewsey as the sweeping backdrops to your flight.

We are offering 30 and 60-minute trial flying lessons out of this Wiltshire base, as well as a rather special double-flight adventure. Take off from Yatesbury, fly over the Solent to land at an airfield on the Isle of Wight and then fly back to base - double the take offs and double the landings!

And if you’re wondering what flying out of Yatesbury Airfield is like in terms of facilities and location, we can tell you there’s loads of free parking, a clubhouse and a cafe on site. Located just off the A4, in the middle of the Chippenham, Marlborough and Devizes triangle, it's easy to get to the airfield for your trial flying lesson from all over Wiltshire.
