What Can I Expect

Enjoy a three-flight experience with these landaway triple flying lessons! One flight at the controls, one flight as navigator and one flight as observer - and all on one day. These great value vouchers are available at selected venues.

There may be up to three of you taking part in these very special aeroplane pilot triples, so you swap roles after each flight. In total, you’ll be in the air for around 90 minutes, which is a lot of flying time to get under your belt!

You will meet your instructor pilot at your base airfield. There will be a preflight safety briefing of around 15-minutes and then you’ll head out to the plane. After walk-around checks, it’s time to get into the cockpit ready for your first flight of the day.

How these triple lessons are operated may vary on the day according to weather and operational conditions, but the chances are you will be doing a landaway as part of this triple experience. That means you’ll be taking off from base to fly cross country and land at another airfield.

Once landed you might have the chance to sample the local catering if there’s an on-site cafe (pilots are fuelled by tea after all!) and, of course, it’s the perfect moment to change roles when you hop back onboard.

When it’s your turn up front in the captain’s seat your flight time will be run as a proper flying lesson. And when you’re in the rear seats as navigator, it’ll be up to you to know where you are and where you’re going. The flight as an observer gives you the ideal excuse to take photos and admire the views from 2000ft!
