What Can I Expect

Learn with the experts brings you How to Grow Herbs - an online course in the art of growing aromatic herbs and how to use them in cooking, floristry and for medicinal purposes.

If you don't know your sage from your oregano, but you fancy learning more about herbs and how they grow, this four-part course online is for you. It's hosted by expert gardener Dr Rachel Petheram, who regularly contributes to press, radio and TV with her gardening skills.

Dr Rachel hosts the online videos and self-teaching content for these herb courses. You can start the programme whenever you like and take it at your own pace when it comes to assignments and learning. Once you've signed up for the course, all the online content is available to you for life.

The programme starts with the History of Herbs, where you'll learn who and how they came to Britain and what traditional uses herbs have. Week two looks at where to grow herbs. And don't worry if you've not got a garden, you can do wonders with window boxes and pots!

Moving from growing herbs to how you can use herbs, week three's content concentrates on using herbs in your cooking to add depth of flavour and fragrance. The final video in the series on week four delves into the medicinal uses of herbs and how they can help with your overall well-being.

For extra coaching and personalised feedback from Dr Petheram herself, go for the Expert option, which also gives you a certificate on completion of the course.

Once you've got your How to Grow Herbs course voucher, you simply register online and get signed up, so you can instantly access the content and get learning with expert Dr Rachel.
