What Can I Expect
Book helicopter lessons in Manchester! Whether you know it as Manchester City Airport or Barton Aerodrome, this airfield is a great location in the north-west for helicopter training flights.
There's always loads going on at Manchester City Airport. With lots of aviation and non-aviation businesses around the extensive grounds, it's a bustling place. Airside you'll find long grass runways and hard standing helipads, with many resident aircraft. There's even the original 1930s red brick control tower, watching over you.
We are offering 20, 30 and 60-minute helicopter lessons out of Barton. Flights are operated by four-seater Robinson R44 helis. That means, if your pilot instructor agrees, you can invite two people to fly with you in the rear seats for a small additional charge.
As you can imagine, with Eccles being located in the City of Salford within the Great Manchester area, you've got an amazing city-scape background to your helicopter lesson. From the imposing Trafford Centre, to various sporting stadia and well-known landmark buildings, these flights have it all on the horizon.
What's more, you'll be captain in the chopper. With the encouragement of your instructor, you'll be deftly handling the Robinson helicopter. As you soar over the Salford and Greater Manchester area, you'll appreciate how totally amazing these rotary aircraft are!
