What Can I Expect

Know what a Derry Turn is? You will do after this Harvard Aerobatics experience! Take a 1953 warbird, pop in a highly experienced pilot, you in the rear seat and you've got yourself an amazing aerial adventure.

These 20-minute flights depart from a hand-picked clutch of historic airfields around the East of England. They will immerse you totally in the world of vintage wartime aviation, as the Harvard was, after all, the advanced trainer of the 40s and 50s. This was the plane young pilots flew before stepping up into Spitfires, Hurricanes and Lancasters.

And what a training plane it was! Still today, this 'Wacky Wabbit' Harvard is fast, with nimble controls and a fighter-like feel in the air. Handle the Harvard well and you could cope with any other aircraft. That's why it earned the nickname ‘The Pilot Maker'.

You will be in the rear seat for your aerobatics flight. Make no mistake, that doesn't mean you'll merely be a passenger. The aircraft is dual control, so that means you'll be given the chance to fly this wonderful warbird. And it sure is exhilarating.

As if that wasn't exciting enough, the aerobatics segment of the flight will blow your socks off. You will literally be seeing sky-ground-sky-ground, as the much-loved warbird deftly performs daring stunts in the air. An inside loop, half-cubans, aileron rolls and those Derry turns. You'll experience them all (and all the G forces that go with them) on your Harvard flight!

• Selected dates between April to October 
• Flights are generally available between 10am and 6pm
• Dates and times are subject to availability at your chosen location

Suitable For

• Minimum age 16 years old
• Under 18's must be accompanied by an adult
• Maximum weight 18 stone
• You need to be agile enough to climb into the cockpit

Spectators

• Spectators are welcome to come along and watch the take off and landing with great photo opportunities

Anything Else

• All quoted flight times are chock to chock
• Experiences are subject to a minimum of 2 flights taking place. In the unlikely event numbers are not reached dates may be rescheduled
