There really are no sides to the thing and it's all about being open to the elements with the wind in your face. On the other hand, picking the enclosed gyro gives you a cosy cockpit and comfort a bit more akin to a light aircraft.

Once you've decided which gyro to fly in, it's all about which sightseeing itinerary to take from Manchester's fabulous City Airport. We are offering three different flight paths for you: a local 10-minute ‘buzz' tour, a 30-minute countryside tour or a 30-minute Manchester city centre discovery trip.

The ‘buzz' flight is perfect to give you a taster of what being in a gyro and seeing the sights around the airport is all about. The criss-cross of motorways, the Trafford Centre, the green spaces - it's all totally fascinating to look down on from the air.

The 30-minute countryside excursion takes you northwards heading towards the Borough of Chorley. Rivington Reservoir is at the heart of this trip as there is so much to see all around. We love Rivington Terraced Gardens on the hillside. With its Japanese inspired gardens, Italian Lake and Pigeon Tower it's a lovely place, all thanks to a certain Mr Lever (as in Unilever!).

If you're a City lover the 30-minute Manchester City Tour is definitely the one for you. From the word go it's landmark after landmark, from the modern buildings at The Quays, the Coronation Street set and Media City, to the Velodrome and the famous Etihad and Old Trafford footy stadia, you can't beat Manchester's vibrant city centre!
