What Can I Expect

Take the leap and go gorge walking in North Wales! Also known as canyoning, gorge walking has become an increasingly popular high-energy hiking activity over the past few years. Now here is your chance to have a go yourself. Dip your toes in on a taster or go the whole hog and have a full day walking the gorges tackling higher jumps and even abseiling down waterfalls.

This long-established outdoor sports centre in Llangollen provides guided gorge walks and canyoning sessions for the budding adventure seeker. There is a whole range of gorge walks in and around North Wales just begging to be explored!

After registration, the professional gorge walking team will gather you all together for a full safety briefing, before you get suited up in your gear. All the necessary equipment will be provided, including wetsuits, safety helmets and buoyancy aids. A few scratches and bruises are to be expected, but the activity is designed to be as safe and enjoyable as possible, with (of course) exhilaration in bucket loads!

The naturally-carved gorges you'll be discovering on these taster and full-day sessions are located about 20 minutes drive away from where you meet at the outdoor centre - and do keep in mind that you will need your own transport for the journey.

Once you're there, you'll be literally going with the flow of the water, as you slide over slabs of rock and jump off natural ledges into the fresh Welsh water.

The gorgeous scenery of Llangollen, coupled with the thrill of canyoning in all that wonderfully clear, fast-flowing water will invigorate your senses. With waterfalls and rock gorges as your backdrop, you'll immerse yourself in all this amazing wilderness when you give gorge walking around North Wales a try.
