What Can I Expect

Glider lessons in Denbigh at Lleweni Parc airfield! Choose between a 15-minute taster and a 30-minute instructional experience at this very special Welsh setting in the heart of Denbighshire.

These flights will be operated primarily by a German-built DG 1001 Neo; a gold-standard, high-tech, two-seater glider that is a veritable delight to fly. It has a tandem seat configuration, which means you will be sitting one behind the other in the cockpit.

On the 15-minute taster flight, you will be towed up by a tug plane to around 2000 ft above the Denbighshire countryside. On the 30-minute experience you’re taken to around 4000 ft. Then you're released and it’s the wonderful sound of silence as you soar through the air. Simply glorious…

As soon as it is safe to do so, your pilot instructor will hand the controls to you and it will be you flying the glider - and the feeling is amazing.

North Wales boasts some unique conditions for glider flying including ridge runs, the Snowdonia wave and incredible thermals, which is why this club exists. It's run by passionate pilots who want you to experience flying out of Denbigh in their wonderful glider.
