What Can I Expect

Glass bauble making workshops in Buckinghamshire - learn to make your very own hand-blown beautiful bauble with the highly-skilled glassmaking team!

The art of glassblowing has been around for over 2000 years. In an age of mass-produced glassware, these hand-crafted pieces are truly stunning and to be cherished - especially when you are the one who made it by hand.

Making a glass bauble is utterly fascinating. You start with molten glass straight out of the red-hot furnace and use a wooden block to shape it, applying your chosen colours as you go.

The truly amazing moment of the whole process is when you blow a bubble in the glass, using the traditional blowing iron pipe. This is when the bauble form truly takes shape. It’s incredible to watch and even more special when you get to have a go yourself.

Whilst glass baubles might be most associated with Christmas, they make a superb decoration all year round, especially hung in a window, where it will wonderfully reflect the natural light.

These two and half hour glass bauble making workshops will see you working the molten-hot glass at the purpose-built Buckinghamshire facility midway between Aylesbury and Bicester. All the gear you need is included, along with tuition from highly-skilled (and patient) glassblowers. Your hand-crafted bauble will be posted out to you once it has cooled.
