What Can I Expect
Calling all tractor fans - this is the ultimate tractor driving experience! Head to The Adventure Fields in Nottinghamshire to drive both modern and vintage Ferguson tractors for an hour each.
Rebranded as Massey-Ferguson in 1958 following the merger of Ferguson and Massey-Harris, everyone recognises those bright red modern tractors working away in the fields. But take a step back in time and you’ll meet the famous ‘Grey Fergusons’, so-called because they are the colour grey!
These 1940s Ferguson tractors were painted in that distinctive grey to reflect that clean, functional and professional presence. And although they look rudimentary to us now, these early tractors revolutionised the work of the farmer.
On this experience you get to drive both a modernism, red Massey-Ferguson and a classic ‘Grey Fergie’ as they are lovingly known.
In the modern tractor you've got a comfy cab, all the driving aids you need and the capability to attach all sorts of accessories to the front or back of the tractor (as you’ll find out!).
The classic Ferguson on the other hand is completely open, with just a hard, metal seat to sit on. You’ll feel every bump and every vibration from that powerful engine through the steering wheel and foot pedals. In fact, you don’t drive this tractor, you are operating a piece of mechanical history!
Will you be charmed by the vintage Fergie or blown away by the capacity of the modern Massey-Ferguson? We have to say, we think both tractors are a real joy and this ultimate tractor driving experience is lots of fun.
