What Can I Expect

Enjoy a falconry experience at the very lovely Kelmarsh Hall estate on the Leicestershire/Northamptonshire border! We are offering vouchers for one or two of you to join a shared group experience lasting around two hours.

Kelmarsh, with its country house, gardens, woodlands, tea-rooms and lake is nestled within a 3500 agricultural estate. It’s the perfect habitat for birds of prey who thrive on being able to fly freely and safely within their arena, surrounded by woodlands and hedgerows.

These falconry days at Kelmarsh Hall are run by Charlotte and Sophie. Lead falconer Charlotte is hugely experienced, priding herself on giving informative, fun and educational commentaries. There’s always a good dash of humour too - especially when the raptors go off script!

And indeed, you’ll get to learn more about each bird’s character (and they are all very different) during your experience. Saki, the Brown Asian Wood Owl is very much the female boss. Jerry the European Kestrel always impresses with his hovering skills and you can’t miss Cardhu with her very loud chanting call.

There are lots of opportunities to get hands on, with each participant getting to fly at least two different species on this up-close and personal flying experience.

Your Kelmarsh Hall falconry voucher is valid for your choice between an owl or birds of prey experience. No need to choose when buying the vouchers, the lucky ones going to meet the raptors can make the decision when booking their date.
