What Can I Expect

Standby for take off in the F-35 simulator! This impressive Lockheed Martin F-35 sim operates at Little Gransden, an active airfield at Sandy, in the heart of the Cambridgeshire countryside. Are you ready for a high-adrenaline sim experience?

Favoured by the US Forces, the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II is a latest generation stealth combat aircraft capable of multiple roles. From aerial combat and air strikes, to overhead reconnaissance and surveillance, this is the plane you need when you're at war (or to keep the peace!).

This simulator replicates the F-35B version, which is the model that is capable of short take-offs and vertical landings (known as STOVL in military speak). And yes, it's as epic as it sounds. Developed for NATO's Joint Strike Fighter Programme, it cost an absolute fortune, running over budget and time. This simulated F-35B is very much ready to go and is waiting for you to climb in.

And you will indeed be literally climbing into the cockpit, as the only way into the sim is over the side, just like in the real F35 Lightning. In the snug cockpit there's only room for one fighter pilot and that's you. Sitting staring at the 22” touchscreen and the Hands On Throttle & Stick makes it all feel very real - and that's because the controls and instruments are exactly as they'd be in an actual F-35.

The high-quality 4K HD wraparound graphics will blow you away. And the audio and tactile transducers (that give you realistic jet fighter vibrations and sounds) will have you totally immersed in your F-35 experience from the word go.

These F-35 simulator experiences at this Cambridge site give you 30, 60, 90 or 120-minutes of solo flying in this impressive jet. There's room for one guest to observe from the SIM hall, whilst up to three others can watch from the reception area. • Under 16s must ba accompanied on site by an adult
• Access to the simulator is by climbing over the sides (just like a real aircraft)
• Steps are provided to assist
• For those with limited mobility the cockpit side can be removed for easier access

Spectators

• Up to 4 guests may wait in the lounge area during your session
• Due to limited space in the sim hall only one standing spectator is permitted

• This is a fixed based simulator and does not move
