What Can I Expect

The F1 Safety Car driving experience - drive not one, but two high-performance cars just like the ones used to lead the pack at Formula One races. Get ready to take an AMG and an Aston for a spin at your choice of track, with an Ariel Atom passenger ride thrown in too!

We are offering these Formula One Safety Car drives at Prestwold circuit in Leicestershire, Sywell track in Northamptonshire and Elvington airfield circuit in Yorkshire. For a small fee you can upgrade to premium circuits such as Goodwood and Brands Hatch for that real race track feel.

Since the late 90s, Mercedes has been the safety car of choice for F1. Nowadays, the ‘caution period’ duties (i.e. leading the pack of cars when the yellow flag is out) are shared between Mercedes and Aston Martin. Both excellent choices we feel. This unique experience brings two of the best to the track for you to drive.

You will be driving for three-miles in the Mercedes AMG GTR and another three miles in the Aston Martin Vantage generation 2. Both are stunning looking cars with amazing performance credentials, which mean they can put down some pretty decent lap times!

A pro driver will be alongside you in the front passenger seat whilst you drive each safety car. They will give you tips and direction on the racing line, the braking points and so on of the circuit, to ensure you make the most of your time behind the wheel.

Unlike on Grand Prix race day, there’s no pressure for you, as there is no Race Director calling the shots and no procession of multi-million pound F1 cars driving right behind you. Enjoy your time in the AMG and Aston, savouring your F1 safety car driving experience!

Availability

• Vouchers are valid for use on weekday dates throughout the year
• Option to include weekend dates is available when booking your date for a fee of £25

Suitable For

• Minimum age 17
• Under 18s must have parental consent to take part in this experience
• Height restrictions: minimum 5ft, maximum 6ft 5ins
• Weight restrictions: maximum 19 stone
• Drivers must hold a full UK driving licence which will need to be presented on the day
• Anyone deemed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be allowed to participate
• Drivers must be in reasonable health to drive

Spectators

• Spectators are welcome and there's usually the possibility of enjoying high speed passenger rides (additional fee payable on the day)
• Pets are not allowed at the site

Anything Else

• There are pay on the day activities (subject to availability)
• Optional Collision Waiver Indemnity is available to purchase at the venue at an extra charge
• Refreshments are available to purchase, toilet facilities and viewing areas are provided
• Participants must arrive one hour before their session start time
