What Can I Expect

We are offering vouchers for two or four people to take a tour in a helicopter. That means it's an exclusive, private charter just for you. And that in turn means you can have a say in where you fly. In fact, it's actively encouraged by the heli team at this Nottinghamshire heliport.

As you can imagine, the most popular request is to fly over your own house. If this is do-able within the flight duration (and subject to any permanent or temporary airspace restrictions), then it's on! Other choices include heading over your place of work, your childhood home, or just going for a low-level cruise over the heart of the city centre or your favourite village.

The heliport base for these exclusive sightseeing tours is south of Nottingham at Widmerpool. Conveniently located just off the A46 Fosse Way, it's easy to get to from Nottingham, Loughborough and the whole of Charnwood, as well as the Melton and Rutland side too.

And rather than being an airport for planes, this is a purpose-built heliport specifically for helicopters, which is pretty cool. They can welcome and look after up to 16 helicopters here, including crew facilities, meeting rooms, cafe, hangarage and refuelling services.

You're sure to feel like VIP passengers when you arrive at Widmerpool, especially when you're shown out to the executive heli ready and waiting to whisk you and your private party off on your exclusive charter flight.

All you have to do is decide how many of you are going (two or four people) and what flight duration. The 15-minute tour gives you time to see the landmarks around Trent Bridge and the edge of the city, whilst the 30-minute flight opens up the sightseeing to the Nottinghamshire countryside.

• Flying activities have maximum weights (per seat) to ensure health and safety along with the comfort of fellow passenger
• You must enter passenger/participant weight at the time of booking an experience. If weight varies between the time of initial booking and date of flight experience it remains the responsibility of the customer to update their individual weight via their online account prior to flight
• All passengers will be weighed before flight and if disparity exists between weight disclosed and actual weight (within reason), the passenger may be illegible to fly

• Please note that the maximum weight limit for the Co Pilot Seat on a helicopter pleasure flight varies depending on aircraft and other operational considerations (subject to availability upgrade payable direct)
• If as a party of one you weigh in excess of 15 stone, you may still be able to fly however you will need to purchase an additional seat. This seat will either have to remain unoccupied or can be occupied by an individual as long as the combined total as listed above is not exceeded
