What Can I Expect

Electric aircraft flying experience! Take to the skies in the world’s first EASA Type certified light aircraft powered entirely by electricity.

Based at historic airfields in West Sussex, the VELIS Electro is a true pioneer in the world of aviation. You will notice the difference the moment you step onto the tarmac to meet your instructor.

The aircraft looks familiar, but the traditional combustion engine has been replaced by a clean, liquid-cooled electric system. There is no need for a lengthy pre-takeoff warm-up here; it’s simply a matter of powering up and taxiing out.

Once you are airborne, the reduction in cockpit noise is immediate and impressive. You can enjoy the stunning views over the South Coast without the constant roar of a petrol engine.

Inside the cockpit, you sit side-by-side with your pilot, giving you a front-row seat to the future. A modern LCD display provides all the data on your electric powertrain as you glide through the air.

During your 45-minute flight, there may even be a chance to take the controls yourself. Your instructor can guide you through some basic manoeuvres if the conditions are right and they feel you’re ready.
