What Can I Expect

Spend an hour or so in the company of a passionate crocheter, learning how to turn yarn into wonderful things on these London workshops. Open to all, you don't even need any crochet or knitting experience to take part in and enjoy these sessions in the capital.

Hosted by an expert crocheter, you'll sit down together in a relaxed, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere to learn the essentials of crocheting. With just a single (and very simple-looking) crochet hook and a ball of yarn, expert crocheters can make pretty much anything!

You'll be shown how to do the slipknot that attaches your string of yarn to the crochet hook. Then you'll be taught how to hold the hook in one hand with your thumb and forefinger and the yarn in the other. A deft little movement and you'll have your first stitch done. As you carefully create your single chain, you're bound to be repeating the mantra ‘yarn over and pull through' in your head.

The benefits of crocheting are clear to see. You get to sit down and do something relaxing, which can be done whilst chatting to friends, or solo in contented silence. You also get to create crocheted items, which could be anything from just a little square to begin with, to teddies to treasure, cosy scarves, or cute little decorative things like crochet flowers.
