What's Included

What Can I Expect
Couples who forge together stay together! Book for the two of you to take part in a couples blacksmith experience and work together in the forge to create a bespoke piece of ironwork for you to take home and cherish.
Husband and wife team Aaron and Nicky are the duo behind this wonderful forge in the Herefordshire countryside. Their aim together is to preserve the ancient traditions of the craft, with love and respect for the long heritage of handmade ironmongery, through both the commissioned pieces they produce and the workshops they host.
Working as a couple, you will be shown all the techniques to heat and work your metal. Your expert instructor will be on hand at all times to guide you through the processes step by step. You'll both learn a huge amount about the art of crafting metal, which is surprisingly malleable when hot!
The great thing about these couples' experiences is that you will be working alongside each other on your joint project. That's to say you will decide together (along with your host) what you'd like to create and you can each take turns using the tools and techniques shown to you.
Lots of couples choose to create something romantic like a metal rose, other partnerships go practical, forging useful things like a fire poker and stand, or a herb chopper. For the couple with outside space, the metal hanging basket bracket is a really popular choice, as is the plant climber. You can even fashion a lovely dragonfly garden ornament out of metal.
These couples blacksmith experiences last around five hours. During which time you will try something new, create something lovely that'll last and have some giggles on the way. It's a great activity to do together and no previous experience is necessary!
