What Can I Expect

All aboard for your Christmas High Tea train ride on the East Somerset Railway! It's time to feel festive with these yuletide packages to enjoy a very merry afternoon tea and journey on this wonderful heritage railway.

We think there's something infinitely Christmassy about steam trains in December. The crisp cold air, the clouds of steam billowing into the air and you all nice and cosy in your carriage.

Your tickets to ride are for a five-mile round trip along the length of the East Somerset Railway line and all departures for these special winter packages are scheduled for December, to really get you in the mood for Christmas.

Boarding the train at Cranmore Station, you will be invited to take your seats at your reserved table in the wonderful Mendip Belle dining carriage, where your Noel-themed sweet and savoury teatime treats will be served during your voyage.

We love the onboard menu, which is festive and delicious! From honey glazed pigs in blankets to Christmas sausage rolls and sandwiches. And as well as the traditional scones, tasty treats like mince pies, slices of Christmas cake, Rudolph truffles and billionaire's brownies will be adorning your platters too.

Don't forget, there's lots to see at this friendly heritage railway; from the engine shed and workshop, to the signal box and museum, there's plenty of time for a nice stroll around after your Christmas High Tea and train ride.
