What Can I Expect
All aboard the Christmas dinner train in Derbyshire! Experience the festive charm of Christmas past at the historic Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, with our special yuletide steam dining dates in the Peak District.
We have vouchers for two, three or four people to enjoy a three-course traditional Christmas meal served at your table, onboard the open-plan heritage Countryman carriages dressed for the festive season, in all their vintage glory.
The Christmas Countryman dining train departs from Wirksworth station at 18:30 for your evening of festivity and food, returning around 1.5 to 2 hours later.
Whilst dining, you’ll glide through the glorious Derbyshire countryside pulled by steam locomotive, passing through the rolling pastures alongside the River Ecclesbourne, Idridgehay Station and the woodland glades around the farmsteads to Duffield and back.
And of course, nothing beats seeing the plumes of steam billowing past your window as you’re cosy inside on a cold winter’s night, as you tuck into your delicious roast turkey dinner!
There’s a licensed bar onboard too, so if you fancy a little winter warmer before or after your Christmas dinner the Countryman onboard will gladly be at your service.
