What Can I Expect

Cardiff helicopter tours - from the Principality Stadium to Barry Island, you can see it all on when you book your seat on a helicopter flight out of Cardiff Heliport. We are offering 10, 20 and 30-minute Cardiff helicopter tours for you.

The countryside, towns and coastline around this part of South Wales are varied and amazing to explore from the air. Of course, Cardiff itself dominates the skyline. The very best views come with the 30 minute tour package. On this flight you head right over the Principality (Millennium) Stadium to get a bird's eye view of this famous 74,500-seater stadium.

Also on the half-hour tour you also get to see Cardiff Castle, or Castell Caerdydd as it's known in Welsh. A real mixture of architectural styles, this castle is a familiar site, looking down over Cardiff city since mediaeval times. But rarely do people get the chance to observe the keep and the baileys from the air.

The rest of the flight itinerary for the 20 and 30 minute flights is the same, heading over to Lavernock Point, the headland overlooking the Bristol Channel, before your flight continues on to Barry Island. This is where many scenes from TV shows 'Dr Who' and 'Gavin and Stacey' have been filmed. Throughout the flight your pilot will point out all the landmarks both manmade and natural that make this area of the coast so distinctive.

If you want a quick whizz to see the key landmarks of the Castle, cathedral, bay and stadium, go for the 10-minute Pleasure flight, which offers a great value taste of Cardiff.

And a special mention for the take-off site for these helicopter tours. Cardiff Heliport is right on the edge of the docks and it's a pretty cool feeling when you rise up into the air, right on the water's edge. The staff and crew at Cardiff are all super friendly too.

So whether you've always wanted to fly over Wales's flagship Principality Stadium, tour the Welsh coastline, or see Barry Island pleasure park and reminisce, it's all possible with these fabulous rides by helicopter. Book your seat on the next helicopter departing from Cardiff helipad now!
