What Can I Expect

Anyone for Blenheim Palace and afternoon tea? Visit one of England's largest houses with these Blenheim Palace tickets and afternoon tea packages for two people!

Perched on the edge of the Cotswolds just north of Oxford you'll find Blenheim Palace, an imposing Baroque-style house that has been the home of the Dukes of Marlborough for successive generations. It's also the ancestral home of Sir Winston Churchill - and where he was born.

With so much to see around the house, parkland and gardens, we'd say allow at least two hours for your visit to Blenheim. The ornate gardens are a must-see (Capability Brown toiled for 11 years to get them just right!). As are the State Rooms. Friendly and knowledgeable volunteers are available in each of the rooms, to chat about the wonderful history, artefacts, paintings and tapestries. Audio download tours are also available.

Other highlights included with your tickets are the Churchill Exhibition and the Stables Exhibition. Both show how over 300 years of history has shaped Blenheim and the Marlborough dynasty. It's fascinating stuff. And make sure you have a good look around the very grand Library room and check out the pipe organ!

Outside, a saunter around the Butterfly House, the Rose Garden and the Secret Gardens is a sensorial delight. You are welcome to roam around the parkland that incorporates the River Glyme, the Queen Pool and Great Lakes that flank this impressive palatial pile.

You can also follow one of the many signposted trails. Discover the history of the 'Greatest Briton' on the Churchill walk. Explore the various locations around the estate that feature in hit films and TV shows, such Spectre, Harry Potter, Queen Charlotte a Bridgerton Story and Cinderella.

After touring Blenheim Palace it's time for afternoon tea, which will be taken in The Orangery. This Grade I listed building with high ceilings, arched windows and alcoves has been beautifully restored. It's the perfect venue for a traditional afternoon tea featuring dainty sandwiches, sweet treats and house-made scones.
