What Can I Expect
‘I want to go axe throwing near me', you say? No problem. With this one voucher you have the choice of a number of axe throwing clubs and centres around the country. What's more, these vouchers are for two people to try the sport together.
Axe throwing is certainly not your usual pastime. You may have thrown darts, gone bowling or played pool, but chucking axes into great chunks of wood is definitely something different. And it's great fun too.
We know it goes against the grain of everything you were ever taught about sharp things, which is why throwing axes might make you feel like a naughty schoolkid! But fear not, these axes are totally meant to be thrown and with the right guidance, it's all very safe.
You'll soon see that it's not just a case of throwing the axe as hard as you can. There's a definite knack to it. Coaches will be on hand to teach you the right technique, so that you can be accurate and get just the right power behind your throw for the axe to land solidly in the target.
The targets you'll be aiming at are usually made of wood. The most popular type are wedges of pine tree trunks, as they are hard enough to not get too quickly damaged with all those axes flying into them, but not so solid that axes keep dropping to the floor.
In essence, it's great fun. Chances are, it's a leisure activity you've never tried before, so pick a partner, buy the voucher, get booked in at the venue of your choice near you and get throwing those axes.
