What Can I Expect
Axe throwing at Ripley Castle! It is time to release your inner Viking in the heart of the North Yorkshire countryside.
This exhilarating one-hour session is designed for everyone, from total beginners to those who have held a hatchet before. You will be based at the Ripley Castle Activity Centre, situated near Harrogate and Ripon.
Your adventure begins with a comprehensive safety briefing led by adept instructors. They will show you exactly how to handle the equipment safely before moving on to the fun stuff. You will learn several throwing styles, starting with the classic overarm technique. Once you have found your rhythm, you might even try double-handed or backward throws. If you are feeling particularly brave, there is even the option to try a double axe throw. The satisfaction of hearing the blade 'thud' into the target is hard to beat.
The session is packed with competitive. games and challenges to keep things interesting. You will take part in games like 'Outside In', 'Zombie Hunt', and even 'Hit the Playing Card'.
Don't worry about the British weather getting in the way of your aim. The throwing range is sheltered, so you can keep practicing your skills rain or shine.
The setting is truly stunning, with views across the castle grounds and peaceful woodland trails nearby. It is a fantastic way to spend an hour outdoors while learning a unique skill. As a special bonus, your voucher includes access to the beautiful castle grounds until 4 pm on the day of your visit. This makes it the perfect day out for friends, families, or corporate groups.

- Dogs are welcome. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and your dogs must be well-behaved and friendly towards people and other dogs

- Sessions will go ahead in most weather conditions, but extreme weather may lead to rescheduling for safety reasons
- Parking is available on site
