What Can I Expect

This is Air Trail in Stockton at Tees Barrage - the biggest climbing adventure course of its kind in the UK! Fantastic fun as you work your way around the obstacles for up to an hour.

With four levels reaching to 18 metres high (that’s really high when you think the average house is around eight metres!) Air Trail is packed full of rope bridges, stepping stones, cargo nets, balance beams and tight ropes to negotiate.

What we love about this climbing adventure set up is the fact that you make your own route, as you go where you want to go. Highlights for many intrepid air trailers are the two zip wires and the really quite scary ‘walk the plank’. Let’s see if you dare to do them!

As you work your way around over 30 different modules and challenges at your pace, you’ll be supported all the way by the Air Trail staff who are on hand to encourage you. The Air Trails team at Stockton is super friendly and helpful - especially for those who may start out a little nervous.

And we have to say, in between balancing on beams and walking wobbly tight ropes, make sure you take a moment to look around - the views from the top of Air Trail over Tees Barrage and beyond are pretty cool!

Availability

  • Selected weekdays and Saturdays throughout the year
  • Opening Times: 09:00-17:00 throughout the summer (09:00-16:30 Nov-Mar)
  • Participants should arrive 30 minutes so you can get checked in and fitted into your harness

Suitable For

  • Participants taller than 1.2m (4ft) can go unsupervised on the Air Trail
  • Those between 1m – 1.2m (3ft 6in – 4ft) must be accompanied by a responsible paying adult on Air Trail
  • Weight Restrictions: maximum 136kg (21st 4lb)
  • Height Restrictions; maximum 6ft 6ins (201cm)
  • This activity is not recommended for people with heart problems, back and joint injuries, those who have had recent surgery or women who are pregnant
  • Shoes must be securely fastened to participant’s feet and have closed toes. Flip flops & sandals are not permitted

  • Spectators are welcome to come and watch

  • Refreshments and snacks can be purchased from the on site cafe with views over the River Tees
