Brave this predator experience and have a go at handling snakes and spiders as part of a rather unique activity at our centre in Cumbria that may well have you squirming in your boots. All the classic phobias will be dealt with in one session - as you come face to face with spiders (arachnophobia), snakes (ophidiophobia) and birds (ornithophobia).
The experience starts with being introduced to the professional handlers, before heading off to meet the predators themselves. We're pretty sure your hearts will be beating just that little bit faster as you open your hand to let the tarantula crawl across your palm. And just when you've got used to that, how about handling a snake? If you've never touched snake skin before, you may be surprised to learn that although it looks wet, it's actually rather smooth, dry, silky and satiny to the touch - and not unlike a pair of patent leather shoes!
Once you've befriended the reptiles and arachnids, it's time to meet the birds of prey before heading off on a short Hawk walk, where you'll get the chance to see the prowess of the Hawk as a predator, diving in and out of the trees in graceful flight, before landing back on the handler's gloved hand. In total you will spend around one and a half hours with the animals on this small group predator experience in Cumbria.
