What Can I Expect
Meet the KuneKune pigs on a Pig Experience in Norfolk! We love this. The two of you will get to hang out for a blissful hour with the adorable piggies on this farmstead nestled in the Norfolk Broads.
Most importantly, this isn't a working farm. All the residents are much-loved rescue animals. There's no chance these gorgeous pigs will become spare ribs or sausages, so no need for vegans and vegetarians to abstain!
KuneKune (pronounced ‘kooney kooney') means ‘fat and round' in Maori. And cute duo Prunella and Bacon Bonce certainly live up to their name. They are super affectionate and love nothing better than having their big piggy bellies rubbed and snouts tickled.
During your pig experience you will take a wander in the meadows with them, help with feeding and grooming. Host Amanda knows her stuff when it comes to keeping KuneKunes, so you'll learn lots too.
Did you know KuneKune pigs can weigh up to 100kg? They like eating grass, fruit and vegetables best. They were nearly extinct in the 1970s. And they are so intelligent that they can be trained - you might even see this Norfolk pair of pigs do some of their favourite tricks during your experience!
