Jewellery Making Workshops

Most of our jewellery making workshops are designed specifically for absolute beginners. Our expert craftspeople will guide you step-by-step through the process, from handling the tools to finishing your piece, be it a pair of wedding rings, a decorative pendant or even your very own bespoke watch!

Many of our experiences include all the tools and materials needed for your personalised project (e.g., sterling silver for jewellery or a standard mechanical movement for watchmaking), but do check on each experience page for specific information.

Yes we do! Often it's the bride or groom (or parents of) buying the experience for each other. The two of you will work together to fashion your bespoke, personalised wedding bands from silver. It's a wonderfully touching way to create your rings - and a day that'll be remembered forever!

Sea glass jewellery is all about transforming ocean-tumbled glass into wearable art. Instead of starting with a gemstone, you’ll work with gorgeous, colourful pieces of glass smoothed by the sea, learn how to safely drill through the glass or create a bespoke silver "bezel" (a metal frame) to secure the sea glass and turn it into gorgeous and unique pieces of jewellery.

We offer workshops using the lost wax technique to create silver jewellery such as rings and pendants. Rather than working directly to solder hard metal, you will sculpt, carve and file your ring design out of a special jeweller’s wax. There's plenty of room for creativity, as this method allows for detailing and textures that are nearly impossible to achieve with traditional metalwork. The piece will then be cast (the heat melts the wax and molten metal fills the space!). This happens after your workshop.

Using what is called Precious Metal Clay (PMC), which is clay with tiny particles of silver mixed in. You can mould, stamp and texture it just like ceramic clay and once your design is finished, your teacher will fire it with a torch or in a kiln. The heat makes the organic clay melt away, leaving you with a piece of solid, hallmarked sterling silver. It's a perfect method for beginner jewellery making - and comes up with some really nice, detailed results!

Hand forging is the traditional silversmith's way of making jewellery—it’s very physical and incredibly satisfying! You start with a raw bar of silver or gold and use heat and a hammer to shape it on a steel anvil. Although more precise, the techniques are similar to blacksmithing. You’ll learn how to work the hot metal, solder the join then texturing and polishing to get the finish you want. Hand-forging is a popular experience for making bespoke wedding rings.

Not at all! Our watchmaking sessions are specifically for people with no horology experience! They are guided "assembly" experiences, hosted by master watch-builder who will be by your side to walk you through the process of choosing and fitting the components, making it accessible for anyone. And yes, you get to take home and wear your bespoke watch!

Yes! Ring making workshops are by far our most popular, but you can also make your very own bangle, pair of earrings or pendant using your pick from a variety of techniques. 

Yes, you certainly do! Depending on the method used to create your bespoke piece, you may or may not take it home with you on the day of your experience. For example, wax-carved pieces will need to go through a casting process and this is often done in specialist workshops, in which case you'll get your jewellery by post or be invited back to collect.
