What Can I Expect

Paddle boarding in Sunderland - a great first way to get out on the water! You’ll be in the safe and very capable hands of the SUP team at this activity centre located right on the beachfront at Roker for these paddle board lessons.

Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) is one of the most accessible paddlesports there is. With all the right gear and all the right instruction, you’ll soon be out there on the water paddling away, either standing up or on your knees, but definitely in a straight line!

Mike, Kem, Ben and the rest of the paddle boarding crew at this school are all so welcoming, so patient and so encouraging that you will feel at ease from the moment you arrive. With good humour and a smile, you’ll be shown how to paddle board.

You’re right on the beach here at Roker, so if the sea is nice and calm, you’ll go out straight from the beach, or perhaps head into the sheltered Sunderland marina area if it’s a bit choppy.

And you won’t just be learning how to stand up and get paddling, you’ll also start to get a feel of how the wind affects your paddling and learn a thing or two about the local Sunderland beach ecosystems too!

Suitable for all ages from six years old, these paddle boarding experiences at lovely Roker in Sunderland are great for solos, couples, groups of mates and families to get out on the water together.
