These hunting experiences allow you to work alongside the hawks, dogs and ferrets in the pursuit of prey. Located within the boundaries of the National Forest of Leicester, there is no shortages of stunning scenery from which to fly the birds.
The experiences start with a falconry lesson to give you the basics then it's straight into the action as you head out into the countryside where the Hunting Hawks are released.  Possibly with the aid of both pointing dogs and ferrets, you will be shown the age old bond of man and hawk as they work together.

You'll be handling and flying a 'pack' hunting Harris Hawk, but may be lucky enough to fly one of the star performers from the centre's falcon team (dependent on game and time of year).  An experienced falconer will be on hand throughout to ensure you are completely involved in the hunt and to provide you with information on the falconry experience as well as the other wildlife which will be seen.

Half days last three hours, usually 1000 - 1300 or 1400 - 1700.  Full days last six hours usually running 1000 - 1600 with a break for lunch.  A packed or pub lunch is included on the full day.  Group sizes are normally between two and eight people.

Leicestershire, with excellent road links the venue is easily accessible and Nottingham, Derby and Birmingham are all within an hour by car.


Minimum age is 14. All under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.  No alcohol or pets on site please.


Spectators are welcome to come and watch however a fee of £30 for half days and £50 for full days per person applies, payable on site. There are toilets on site. Nearby pubs, hotels and B&B's can be recommended when booking.
