What Can I Expect
Ready to go wing walking in Somerset? If you’ve ever dreamed of walking on air, it’s time to make that dream a reality at Henstridge Aerodrome in beautiful Somerset.
This isn’t just any wing walk—it’s an adrenaline-packed, heart-racing experience that will have you standing on the wing of a vintage Stearman biplane, soaring through the sky at speeds of up to 120mph!
Nestled on the Dorset/Somerset border, Henstridge Airfield is a charming and welcoming little airfield that’s perfect for your wing walking debut. It has a fascinating history too—once a Fleet Air Arm training base during WWII, Henstridge still boasts one of its original tarmac runways.
Today, it’s a buzzing hub for general aviation, with a mix of modern and vintage aircraft that will make your wing walking adventure even more special.
You might be thinking, “Why stand on the wing of a moving aircraft?” Well, it’s simple: because it’s incredible . Of course, we could sell you a nice comfy seat inside the cockpit, but the true thrill lies in defying gravity and standing atop a moving plane, with the wind whipping around you as you zoom through the sky.
The elements may be in full force, your jowls may wobble in the wind, and you might even experience some crazy angles—like a 35-degree dive—but none of that will stop you from feeling the rush of a lifetime. Plus, there’s something extra special about having a whole crowd of spectators watching from below as you take on this epic challenge!
As you stand on that wing, you’ll be part of a rich aviation tradition, all while flying over the stunning Somerset countryside. The backdrop is beautiful, but let’s be honest—you’ll be so focused on the wind, the speed, and the exhilaration, you’ll barely have time to notice!
Don’t forget to wave and show off to your friends and family who’ve come to cheer you on - you’re the star of your own aerial show. And when you land? Well, let’s just say that you’ll have the amazing story of the day you walked on the wing at Henstridge Airfield in Somerset to tell!
