What Can I Expect

Book your slot on the ATC simulator - the UK’s first Air Traffic Control Tower simulator experience! Have a go at controlling the skies on these unique, immersive and interactive one and two-hour sessions in Hampshire.

Being an air traffic controller requires logic, reasoning and composure under pressure. Have you got what it takes to be able to keep the airways safe at your airport?

For example, London Heathrow is one of the world’s busiest airports with anything up to 90 movements an hour - and controllers have to know where each and every one of those aircraft is at all times, which is a huge responsibility.

The ATC simulator setup is very realistic, with HD screens giving you the control tower view over the airfield apron, taxi and runways. You’ll be sitting in the controller’s chair with your headset on, in front of radar screens and controller works stations.

With coaching from instructors experienced in the ATC environment, you will be assigned tasks such as clearances, managing departures and sequencing arrivals, all with a safe separation to ensure movements run to time - and nothing untoward happens!

Fully immersed in the procedures, operational work plans and even the phraseology of an Air Traffic Controller, you will experience an hour or two in the life of ATC on these unique and fascinating Air Traffic Control simulator sessions.

Suitable For

  • Minimum age 14
  • Under 18s must be accompanied by a spectating adult
  • The simulator and briefing room is accessible by wheelchair and for those with limited mobility
  • No previous experience needed

Spectators

  • Up to three guests are welcome to attend as spectators during the experience

Anything Else

  • The sim centre is located next to Whiteley shopping centre which has numerous restaurants and shops
