VR Racing Simulators

A VR race simulator is the motor racing equivalent to a high-end flight simulator! It's a car racing simulator set up with direct-drive steering wheel, load cell pedals and often a motion platform that combines with a VR headset to place you o the track in the most immersive way possible. VR gives you a true 360 degree, 3D view from the point of view of the driver in the cockpit.

In essence, with a VR headset on it's like you are in the cockpit of the car. You can see all around you and you can look into the corners of the circuit as you drive and judge distances just as you would in a real car out on the track. VR gives you a whole new dimension to simulated racing!

These are professional-grade simulators. Just like your video games at home, software is used, but we're talking a whole different level of graphics and loads more interaction than just using a console at home, with steering wheel feedback, racing set up and when you add in the VR headset, you will be fully immersed in the experience! 

This is a question many people ask about VR simulators. If you're sensitive to motion sickness, it might be better to start with slower cars on flatter tracks. Our VR experiences are usually broken down into a series of shorter sessions with breaks in between, so your eyes and brain have time to relax!

Yes. Most modern VR headsets are fully adaptable for those who wear normal-sized glasses. Many participants do, however, find it more comfortable to wear contact lenses.

Using VR headsets involves exposure to flashing lights and immersive moment, so these experiences are not suitable for those with photosensitive epilepsy, heart conditions or high blood pressure or indeed pregnant women if the simulator is full motion due to possible sudden movements.

Here's the beauty of VR simulators - you can indeed link up simulators and all race in the same race together and see where each other is on the track! VR racing simulators can therefore give you that true race feel you don't get on actual driving experiences.

You're inside and you'll be putting lots of energy into racing that car around the track, so dress lightly and wear thin-soled shoes so you get a real feel of the pedals (which are just like actual race car pedals) and give driving feedback and vibrations just like the real thing.

Nope. Simulators offer many different difficulty levels, be it through the choice of race circuit, or driving aids such as engaging automatic gear shift and traction control. Experienced VR drivers can switch everything to manual for a back-to-basics racing challenge!
